Sunday Workshops
BAUN continue to provide excellent pre-conference workshops and on Sunday 18th October 2026, we will once again be holding pre-conference workshops which will provide you with additional hands on experience and updates which will be essential for your CPD portfolio and for revalidation.
Please note that places for these are on a first come, first serve basis and you must register to attend. If you would like to attend any of the workshops below in addition to the main conference, please use the links below where you can register for a workshop while registering for main conference.
Workshop Timings: Registrations open from 09:30am. Sessions will begin at 09:45am with lunch at 12:30pm. Sessions will close at 5:00pm.
Flexible Cystoscopy Workshop
The Workshop aims to give delegates the necessary prerequisite information and skills in preparation for training to perform flexible cystoscopies.
Delegates will have the opportunity to practice safely on models, as well as discuss any individual issues with our experienced workshop leads while networking with the other delegates.
The Workshop is aimed at nurses wanting to learn how to perform flexible cystoscopies or to further develop their skills.
LATP Biopsy Workshop
This will help prepare Specialist Nurses to perform local anaesthetic prostate biopsies independently.
We will provide the theory and practice behind both cognitive and fusion-based local anaesthetic transperineal biopsy procedure.
There will also be time for hands on experience with equipment using the latest technology in the presence of trained professionals and industry partners.
Essential Skills Workshop
Returning for 2025, the Essential Skills Workshop is aimed at junior urology nurses or those working in a setting looking after urology patients who require an overview of up to date guidelines and the opportunity to practice or update skills..
The areas that will be covered in the workshop will include:
- Bladder washouts / maintenance / bladder instillations (not intravesical chemotherapy)
- Care of nephrostomies
- Change of SP catheter / Catheter change over guidewire
- Difficult catheterisations
- Digital rectal examination, IPSS, bladder diary
- Uroflowmetry, urinalysis, bladder scanning
